Behavior Services

We offer extended appointment times for consultation with families regarding behavioral or mental health issues. This includes concerns regarding attention and focus, depression, anxiety, school difficulties, developmental concerns, autism, or other behavior-related diagnoses.

Our physicians often collaborate with our integrated psychology team to care for patients and families.

It is estimated that 25% of pediatric patients have a diagnosis consistent with a developmental, learning or behavioral disorder and with a paucity of board certified developmental pediatricians, our providers at Complete Children’s Health, continue to educate and grow as a group of pediatricians to fill that void and identify and treat kids in a timely manner, referring on for those individuals with more complex medical needs.

Screening for these difficulties occur at regular intervals during well child care,

guided by the American Associate of Pediatrics and in cooperation with our clinical psychology team and local school systems. Early intervention is a key in helping children reach their full potential.  We partner with local agencies to provide children with therapy needs including physical, occupational and speech therapies, ABA therapy, and mental health therapy. We work with the surrounding school systems to support families in seeking individual educational plans (IEP) for qualified youth.  Finally, we function as your medical home, coordinating care with specialists through the Nebraska healthcare system for individuals with more complex healthcare needs. These physicians may include child psychiatrists, child neurologists and neurosurgeons, endocrinologists, pulmonologists, and other specialists.

We understand that treating these conditions happens in the context of families and affects everyone.

We seek to understand each individual family’s needs so that we can support them in their journey.  As a primary care pediatrician, we can do this by meeting regularly with families, having close contact with them through our patient portal, and providing a team to come to with questions.

This team not only incudes the primary physician, but a primary nurse that coordinates referrals, testing, prior authorizations and medical treatments, our 24 hour nurse triage service that is available for emergent questions,  billing specialists that can assist patient families with navigating insurance and payment for care, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) at their primary location that know the patient and their history and can assist in treating acute illness when their primary physician is not available.

If you have a concern about a developmental or behavioral condition, please call 402-465-5600 and set up an extended visit with your primary physician.  We are here to help.
